Nature, if looked with a curious and closer look, reveals continuously its beauty and its internal order. Even a meeting with those substances that usually we escape because they are disgusting, nauseating, repulsive, can be turned into a creative and poetic experience. In this artwork, the close-up and enlarged image of a mold (Mucor Mucedo) on a tomato is “transformed” into a huge beads field, in a myriad of balloons that are taking flight, in hundreds of pins with rubber head on a large colored fabric. The possibility of a creative look is an art prerogative, but also what allows to move us forward in every area of knowledge. Like in scientific research, where, thanks to a careful and creative look, Alexander Fleming discoverd just in a mold (the penicillin) the substance that has changed the modern medicine in the middle of the 20th century.

La natura, se guardata con uno sguardo più attento e curioso rivela continuamente la sua bellezza e il suo ordine interno e anche un incontro con quelle sostanze che normalmente evitiamo perchè disgustose, nauseanti, ripugnanti, può trasformarsi in un’esperienza creativa, poetica. In questo lavoro, l’immagine ravvicinata e ingrandita di una muffa su un pomodoro (Mucor Mucedo) si “trasforma” in un immenso campo di perle, in una miriade di palloncini gonfiabili che stanno per spiccare il volo, in centinaia di spilli dalla testa di gomma su un grande tessuto colorato. La possibilità di uno sguardo creativo, non è solo prerogativa dell’azione artistica, ma è ciò che permette all’uomo di andare avanti in ogni settore della sua conoscenza. Come nella ricerca scientifica, dove grazie ad uno sguardo attento e curioso si è potuto scoprire proprio in alcune muffe (le penicilline) la sostanza che ha rivoluzionato nella prima metà del ‘900 la medicina moderna.
